Jay finished his 12 year career with 4 years as Captain of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and is looking forward to sharing his vast experiences of soccer and in life with the next generation of athletes and dream chasers.

Jay married Canadian Olympic Gold Medallist Ashleigh McIvor, now Ashleigh DeMerit, in 2013.  The two of them are excited to host the ultimate elite sports camp in the beautiful Pemberton Valley.  

 

Jay has also recently started the Portmanteau Stereo Co., finally putting his industrial design degree to use.

From Whistler girl to Olympic Gold: Ashleigh began as an alpine ski racer before making the switch to skicross at the age of 20, and then catapulting herself on to the world stage for the Olympic debut of skiing's newest discipline.  Ashleigh became the first Olympic Champion in Vancouver's home Games in 2010. Read more about Ashleigh here>

Now retired from competitive skiing, Ashleigh is excited about passing the valuable lessons she's learned along the way on to future guests of the Rise & Shine Retreat.
